What We Learned From Super Bowl LII
We're a little over a week removed from Super Bowl LII, but the conversations about the big game are still fresh. In case you didn't watch, or know nothing about the game, here are the main points:
- The New England Patriots took on the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl championship game played in Minnesota.
- The Patriots featured star quarterback/coach duo Tom Brady and Bill Belichick, and they've won FIVE championships together.
- The Eagles featured second-year head coach Doug Pederson and quarterback Nick Foles, who was the backup to a now injured star quarterback Carson Wentz.
- The Eagles had never won a Super Bowl.
- The Patriots were projected to beat the Eagles, and many football experts saw no chance for the Eagles.
- The Eagles beat the Patriots and are now world champions.
Cool story, bro. But, what does this have to do with dance? There's a major lesson to be learned here, and so many dancers can apply it to their lives and the pursuit of their own dreams.
Success happens when preparation meets opportunity.
Nick Foles had been marked as an unsuccessful backup quarterback by so many sports experts, and there was no way he could outcompete a man (Tom Brady) who is widely considered the best quarterback of this era. But, he did it. When his number was called, he was ready. And he continued to prepare to play on the biggest stage in America!
DANCERS! THIS IS THE TAKEAWAY:
It isn't always about being the best. It's about being YOUR best!Keep this in mind as you prep for contest season, competitions and auditions. We believe in you!
